Terms and Conditions Of Travel for great Barrier Island

Fullers Terms and Conditions of Travel apply to this service.

EARLY BIRD TICKETS

 

Early Bird fares are non-transferable. If you wish to change an Early Bird fare, the booking will be cancelled and you will have to pay the full fare. An administration fee of $25 will be charged for any other cancellations or amendments made to your Great Barrier booking up to 48 hours before travelling. Cancellations within 48 hours of travelling are non refundable and will incur a 100% fee.

RESERVATIONS

Reservations are essential, as seats are limited. For bookings please contact our customer services team on 09 367 9111 or 0800 FULLERS. Fullers is able to accept credit card, eftpos and cash payment but is unable to take cheques. Latest updates on departure times and cancellation details may be checked by calling (09) 367 9106 or 0800 GB ISLAND (0800 424 75263).

CHECK IN TIMES

Check in time is 1 hour prior to departure. Please note there is no allocated seating.

 

UNPAID BOOKINGS

Fullers reserves the right to resell any unpaid bookings 30 minutes prior to departure of the service.

WEATHER AND CANCELLATIONS

Passengers are advised that rough seas and adverse weather conditions can affect travel to Great Barrier Island. This may require us to cancel services in the interests of passenger comfort and safety, and may result in passengers needing to make alternative arrangements at their own expense. However, a refund will be given on the unused ticket, should there be one. All requests must be made to Fullers within 28 days of original date of travel.

 

SEA SICKNESS

If passengers are prone to sea sickness or have a medical condition that may be aggravated by adverse weather and sea states, Fullers advises that you please make this known to the staff who will advise you of the likely sea conditions on that day. You may be advised not to travel.

UNDER 14s

Passengers under the age of 14 years or passengers who are regarded as too young or not competent/fit to travel alone must be accompanied by a responsible person at least 14 years or older.

LUGGAGE

Two pieces of suitcase size or easy to lift luggage (maximum weight 20kgs) per paying passenger are permitted free of charge; luggage tags for these will be issued when you collect your ticket. Excess luggage must be paid for at the time of booking. Please remember which cage number your luggage goes into for easy identification at your destination. Luggage and carry on bags are the responsibility of passengers concerned. Fullers liability for luggage is limited to liability pursuant to the Carriage of Goods Act 1979.

FREIGHT

         All freight must be booked through our freight department 24 hours prior to travel. Call (09) 367 9104.

DOGS, BIKES, SURFBOARDS

Dogs must be on a lead to travel on the ferry. Dogs are not allowed on any lands administered by DOC. All surfboards, bikes and dogs must be pre-booked and pre-paid. Bookings are essential as there is limited space available. Unless booked when booking your own ticket, these items can be refused on the day.

DANGEROUS GOODS

No petrol or gas cylinders may be carried in personal luggage. Items with a fuel tank must be declared and the tank empty. Small LPG bottles, paint, batteries, spear guns and other dangerous substances must be declared and stowed safely. If in doubt declare the item to the master of the vessel.
