Fullers and SeaLink Supporting KNZB Efforts to Keep Waiheke Beautiful

Media Release – 25 August, 2009

Ferry operators, Fullers Group Ltd and SeaLink are jointly supporting Keep New Zealand Beautiful’s efforts during ‘Clean Up Week’, 4th – 11th September.

Fullers will be providing free bus travel to all ‘Clean-Up Week’ volunteers on all scheduled Waiheke Island bus services; volunteers will need to present their ‘Clean-Up Week’ rubbish bags to jump on board for free. Students from the Auckland Seventh Day Adventist High School in Mangere will also travel to the island on Monday 7 September to join forces with students from Waiheke Primary School, for a grand clean-up of Matiatia Beach’s shore line, sponsored by Fullers. Also getting down and dirty for a good cause, you’ll see the Fullers team making sure Matiatia beach is kept sparkling forever more.

SeaLink’s support of ‘Clean-Up Week’, includes offering all those who have registered as volunteers for Waiheke’s Clean-Up Week a 50% discount off the standard Waiheke return fare from Half Moon Bay to/from Kennedy Point. The SeaLink team has also affirmed their responsibility for maintaining a spotless beach at Kennedy Point for the week too! Together

Fullers and SeaLink will be further promoting the Keep New Zealand Beautiful initiative with bus drivers, ticket office staff and boat crew all sporting the official “Keep New Zealand Beautiful” t-shirts, as well as encouraging ferry customers to get involved and be tidy Kiwis too!

If you would like to jump onboard for Waiheke’s ‘Clean-Up Week’ or if you would like more information on how you could lend a hand, contact Jenness Reeve on 09 372 4459 or email amreeve@xtra.co.nz
