FULLERS LAUNCHES NEW SERVICE TO MOTUTAPU

Media Release – December 5, 2008

Fullers Group Ltd announces the launch of its new ferry service to Motutapu. From 6 December, a weekend and public holiday service will operate from Auckland downtown and Devonport to Home Bay, Motutapu.

With the introduction of this new service, it is now possible to experience the awe and amazement of Motutapu firsthand. This unique island combines breathtaking beauty of rambling hills and naturally sculpted landscapes, with an exciting past bearing stories of volcanic eruptions, World War II defense preparations, Maori settlements and European influences. With the restoration of Reid Homestead at Home Bay as an information centre, the story of Motutapu will also soon be on display to the public.

Other attractions include magnificent scenic walking tracks, camping facilities at Home Bay, beautiful scenery and wildlife, tree planting opportunities in association with the Motutapu Restoration Trust project, , and unique flora and fauna which formed as a result of fallen ash and volcanic debris from Rangitoto's eruption 600 years ago.

Sailings to Motutapu depart Auckland downtown ferry terminal on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays at 9.15am and go via Devonport departing at 9.25am. A return sailing departs from Home Bay, Motutapu to Devonport and Auckland at 4.30pm. An adult return fare is $25 and a child return fare is $12.50.
