FULLERS RECEIVES ST JOHN AWARD FOR TRANSPORTING WAIHEKE ISLAND PATIENTS

Media Release – 2 March, 2009

Fullers has received an award in recognition of its support and assistance for St John on Waiheke Island.

A Certificate of Appreciation was presented to Ian Greenslade, Fullers Operations Manager, by Patsy Carlyle, Duty Operations Manager, St John and her team on Wednesday 18 February for the support St John receives from Fullers when transferring patients and staff to and from Waiheke Island.

Fullers and St John work in partnership to make the transfer of patients to and from the island efficient, safe, comfortable and timely.

“We enjoy an excellent working relationship with St John,” says Douglas Hudson, General Manager, Fullers Group Ltd. “Part of this is ensuring that we have an on-going dialogue with the St John team about the service we provide, including looking at the best ways for our vessels to communicate with St John.”

People with serious injuries or medical conditions should call 111 for medical assistance; those who have less serious conditions are encouraged to contact their local Medical practitioner on the island who will advise on the best course of action. This process will ensure that both the injured person and Fullers crew receive the necessary assistance to ensure patients are transferred as safely as possible to appropriate care in Auckland.
