Media Release – September 25, 2008
Fullers group today announced the launch of a brand new deluxe wine tour launching from October 1. The exclusive Wine on Waiheke tour will run daily at 1pm ex Auckland and visits three of the islands finest vineyards; namely Te Whau, Mudbrick and Ridgeview Estate, for samples and tastings of five star quality wines.
Fullers Sales Manager Brett Warman said:
“With Wine on Waiheke it's possible to enjoy a long sunny day spent in three beautiful vineyards whilst sampling a generous quantity of very drinkable, fine wine. We're hoping it will prove popular with both international and domestic tourists and day trippers and encourage even more people to visit the Island.”
The new Wine on Waiheke tour costs $115 per person and includes a return Fullers ferry to Waiheke and an all day bus pass.
Tony Forsyth, proprietor of Te Whau vineyard, is delighted to be part of the new tour: “It's a great opportunity for people to visit Waiheke and for us to show off a selection of the world class wines that are produced on our Island. Waiheke is fast becoming one of the world's most exclusive wine growing regions and tours like this only add to making it more accessible to visitors”
Meanwhile, Fullers current Waiheke Vineyard Tour is from October 1 being re-branded as Taste of Waiheke as the offer includes both wines and a visit to the Rangihoua Olive Estate and other palate pleasing tastings of local produce at Wild on Waiheke.
