Media Release – Auckland, 9 July 2010
Fullers Group Ltd is proud to announce that it is a sponsor of headland Sculpture on the Gulf 2011, to be held on Waiheke Island, 28th January– 20th February, 2011.
Next year marks the fifth exhibition. Fullers has been a sponsor of three headland events to date. Up to 35 large scale works will be exhibited most of which are for sale (120 artists). The event which is held over three weeks is expected to be the biggest draw card to the island in terms of numbers of people during the summer season and brings national and international profile.
“It is an honour to be a sponsor of headland Scuplture on the Gulf, New Zealand’s premier sculpture event,” says Fullers CEO, Douglas Hudson. “Fullers is committed to supporting Waiheke Island’s arts community and I believe this event will not only showcase outstanding sculpture to visitors, but also the island’s stunning scenery. I want to thank the Waiheke Community Art Gallery for their leadership and commitment to development of the arts on Waiheke Island and tourism, to which this great event will certainly contribute.”
Fullers will be a major sponsor of the exhibition and also sponsor the ‘People’s Choice’ award. There are also plans to operate special late afternoon ‘headland Sculpture on the Gulf’ cruises, which will be combined with guided twilight viewings of the sculpture walks. Furthermore, Fullers is sponsoring a schools programme and providing the opportunity for low DESOL schools to visit the exhibition.
