MARINE ENGINEER
The safe operation of our vessels is monitored by our Marine Engineers. The main responsibility of a Marine Engineer is to ensure the safe and efficient running of the vessel's power units (mechanical and electrical) and its maintenance while in operation. Regular engine room watches and maintenance of accurate records are just some of the duties carried out by Marine Engineers. They also ensure that maintenance schedules are adhered to according to the company's Safe Ship Management system.
In addition to the technical skills, Marine Engineers at Fullers possess good customer service skills. Despite not being a frontline role, engineers do interact with our customers on board and develop good customer relationships. The role of Marine Engineer is one of a great deal of variety and responsibility.
Opportunities for development include gaining a Skipper's qualification to drive our vessels. The minimum requirement for our Marine Engineers is a MEC5 or equivalent.
