Fullers strives to offer accessible and affordable transport to all our customers travelling with a disability.
Inner Harbour Services (Devonport, Bayswater, Birkenhead, Northcote Point and Stanley Bay) and Half Moon Bay
Concessionary fares are available to qualifying passengers who travel with an Auckland Total Mobility ID card. ID cards must be shown to obtain these fares. For more information on this card, contact MAXX on 09 366 6400 or visit www.maxx.co.nz
At Fullers discretion, the carer of a disabled traveller is entitled to travel for free on the same journey to the assist the disabled traveller (please note, this excludes Fullers tour products). Appropriate ID must be shown at time of purchase in order to be eligible for this concessionary fare.
Disabled people who travel on a regular basis may want to take advantage of the discounted multi trip tickets available. For more details see Devonport, Bayswater, Birkenhead, Stanley Bay and Half Moon Bay.
Waiheke Island
The ferry services to and from Waiheke Island are not included in Auckland’s public transport subsidy scheme. However Fullers has developed its own subsidy program to support people travelling with a disability.
At Fullers discretion, the carer of a disabled traveller is entitled to travel for free on the same journey to the assist the disabled traveller (please note, this excludes Fullers tour products). Appropriate ID must be shown at time of purchase in order to be eligible for this concessionary fare.
Disabled people who travel on a regular basis may want to take advantage of our regular discounted multi trip tickets instead of special individual tickets. For more details see the Timetables & Fares section of our website.
Conditions of disability travel
We aim to meet the requirements of all our passengers, including those with special needs. Fullers crew are on hand every step of the way to make your journey a relaxing experience with assistance available when embarking and/or disembarking our ferries and while on board.
Most of the Fullers fleet are wheelchair accessible via ramps. Ferry wharves are also wheelchair accessible at the following locations:
- Auckland Downtown Ferry Terminal
- Bayswater
- Birkenhead
- Devonport
- Great Barrier Island
- Half Moon Bay (accessibility is vessel dependant)
- Northcote Point (accessibility is tidal dependant)
- Waiheke Island (Matiatia)
Please note: Extreme tide or weather may mean that some of the listed destinations become unaccessible to wheelchairs.
Ferry wharves and ferries which are not wheelchair accessible:
- Rangitoto wharf and Islington Bay wharf (Rangitoto Island)
- Stanley Bay wharf
- Osprey (operates most off-peak week day services to Birkenhead, Northcote Point and Bayswater)
Buses on Waiheke Island are not wheelchair accessible and it is recommended that a taxi is used.
