VEHICLES
Your hire car will be a 1500cc 4 door, 5 seater sedan or hatchback in a choice of manual or automatic. Waiheke Rental's modern fleet offers efficient, comfortable driving in cars that are perfect for Waiheke's narrow, winding roads. The vehicle comes with more than enough fuel for a full day's travel on the island, island maps and information (so you can find the wineries and beauty spots!) and insurance is included. If you're bringing the whole family, baby and booster seats are available for only $5.00 extra and can be arranged at the counter.
Picking up the car is as simple as walking to the end of the passenger terminal at Matiatia Wharf, along to the yellow rental car booth (signposted ‘Waiheke Auto Rentals'). Car drop off is just as easy, at the depot 100m from the ferry. A total of 15 minutes should be allowed for the drop off procedure and subsequent walk to the ferry departure.
Please note vehicle upgrades and extended hire periods are available - just ask at the rental counter at Matiatia Wharf for some great deals.

TERMS & CONDITIONS
To rent a vehicle the following conditions must be met:
- Car and scooter bookings will be accepted on the day.
- There is a kilometer charge applied of 65c/km which covers insurance, fuel and GST. Please note the hirer does not need to refuel the vehicle.
- For insurance purposes an imprint of your credit card will be taken. Please note if you are over 25 years your Maximum Insurance Liability can be reduced from $1,000 to $350 for a fee of $20 or
if you are 21-25 years your Maximum Insurance Liability can be reduced from $1,500 to $500 for a fee of $35.
- All drivers must be over the age of 21 years, and Waiheke Rentals must see a full car drivers license of every driver (any nationality is acceptable).
- Waiheke Auto Rentals reserves the right to allocate an available vehicle in the above specification range.
- Standard conditions of rental apply and the customer signs a rental agreement.
- A full day is 8am until the last ferry sailing of the day (see timetables). A late drop procedure is available for customers who wish to stay until the evening.
