Famous for its stunning harbours and sailing culture, Auckland city is a world-class racing and regatta destination.
There’s an upcoming significant regatta – World Championship 2019 in the Waitemata Harbour commencing 29th November until the 9th December.
During this time, the harbour will experience heavy yacht traffic. In addition to the racing yachts, there will be many support tenders, and tv/media vessels as the event will be live telecasted.
With an increased number of vessels in the harbour, there may be delays on some of our ferry services. We’re working closely with Auckland Transport and the Harbourmaster to let you know when to expect disruptions.
While we are working to minimise impact to our customers, we encourage you to please allow extra time while travelling. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
If you’d like to plan further in advance, we encourage you to check out the event program to understand when yacht movements may impact your travel. Please note that course decision for the races will be made in the morning on each day. Each race is approx. 30 minutes long.
