A day on Waiheke to die for Waiheke House Tour

Waiheke residents live in paradise – everyone knows that. But for just one day anyone can get a sneak peek into how they live. To support the Waiheke Community Art Gallery, Waiheke Real Estate and Fullers helped the gallery organise the Wonderful Waiheke House Tour– a bus or self-drive trip visiting lovely homes around the island, and an option for a winery lunch at Goldie Room.

Visit gorgeous properties across the island – in Onetangi, Palm Beach, Anzac Bay, Shelley Bay and Oneroa – all with sweeping sea views. Highlights include:

  • Two outstanding Onetangi houses designed by the same architect 20 years apart
  • A contemporary barn-style house at secluded Fossil Bay
  • A beachfront Palm Beach house filled with New Zealand art
  • A house with a flourishing vegetable garden

With art and architecture a theme of the tour, Waiheke art will be on display at most properties. Plus, the tour will raise funds for the Waiheke Community Art Gallery.

The bus tour will visit the Goldie Estate vineyard for lunch. The winery is home to the Goldwater Wine Science Research Centre – The University of Auckland’s Wine Science Programme providing research to benefit the New Zealand wine industry.

Catch the 9am ferry from Auckland to Waiheke Island.

STANLEY BAY TRAVEL ALERT: TUES 28 MARCH

Unfortunately, due to mechanical issues all Stanley Bay ferry services have been cancelled this morning, Tuesday 28 March 2017.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Orapiu Wharf – temporary closure

Over the past 4 months Orapiu Wharf has been partially closed due to the steps and boarding platforms requiring repair. We’ve continued operating our service by utilising the front face of the wharf, but this has come with many challenges.
Due to safety concerns for both our crew and passengers, we’ve made the decision to suspend services to the wharf until repairs are made.
Auckland Transport will undertake repairs and have advised they’ll endeavour to have these completed in order for the wharf to be operational prior to Easter.

We understand that Orapiu is a vital link for residents on Waiheke Island for travel to and from Coromandel, and apologise for the inconvenience this may cause you. During the time of this temporary closure, passengers will need to depart from downtown Auckland.

If you have travel booked departing from Orapiu please contact 360 Discovery on 09 307 8005.
