Rotoroa is a small island with a lot of history. For over 100 years, this island was off-limits to all but a few souls isolated there for alcohol and drug rehabilitation in the care of the Salvation Army. Today Rotoroa is accessible to everyone as an arts, heritage and conservation estate.

Visit the island's award-winning museum and exhibition centre located at Home Bay and learn about its history and years as a rehab centre. Step into some of the old preserved buildings and catch a glimpse of the past - a tiny jail, a chapel and a schoolhouse.

  • Open between 10am and 5pm.
  • An entry fee of $5 per person is included in the ferry ticket price.
  • All Experiences and Tours are subject to Fullers360 Terms and Conditions and Code of Conduct.
