From Sunday 2 April, Waiheke Island off-peak fares will reduce by 50% to $24.75. This applies to full price adult return fares purchased online more than 24 hours in advance*.

This means visitors who travel at off-peak times to Waiheke (after 1pm and return sailings from 7pm) will do so for half the price of travel at peak times. This is the lowest adult return fares have been in more than 15 years.

In recent months Fullers360 has operated a reduced summer timetable due to an ongoing shortage of skilled maritime crew in New Zealand, which means in many instances we have not been able to operate our full fleet of vessels to meet the high levels of customer demand.

Despite our best efforts this has resulted in long queues for the Waiheke ferry service during some peak times. We understand this is deeply frustrating for those who rely on our services, and we are frustrated too.

The further challenge is that across an average week only 30% of available seats are utilised on the Waiheke ferry service. On weekends, during peak times between 9am – 12pm and 4pm – 7pm, demand increases to approximately 200%.

We anticipate this pricing reduction will help smooth out the demand for our services and improve the overall experience for our valued passengers, as well as Waiheke Island business owners and tourism operators.

While we continue to upskill our teams and engage with Government to seek changes to immigration settings

Waiheke Island off-peak ferry tickets will be able to purchase from fullers.co.nz from Sunday, 2 April.

See you on the water!
