What to expect for the day

Your day on Waiheke Island.

  1. The tour runs Friday to Sunday during winter. We recommend allowing at least eight hours, including the return ferry.
  2. Head to Downtown Ferry Terminal and board the 10:00am Waiheke Walk-up ferry from piers 11 and 12. Please arrive 30 minutes early.
  3. Upon arrival at Matiatia Ferry Terminal at 10:45am, your Taste of Waiheke coach will be waiting to meet you.
  4. Start with an olive oil tasting at Allpress Olive Groves. Enjoy a two-course seasonal lunch and glass of wine at Batch Winery, then head to Casita Miro, our newest addition to the tour, for a tasting overlooking Onetangi. Then it’s time for the final pour at Mudbrick Vineyard.
  5. The tour concludes at Matiatia Ferry Terminal to catch the 5:00pm Fullers360 Waiheke Walk-up ferry from pier 1 back to Auckland.
  6. This is an adults-only tour. Guests aged 16+ may attend when accompanied by a parent or guardian. Gift vouchers available from $240. Please note that this tour is open to the public, expect to be joined by others.

Perched at the highest point on Waiheke Island, Batch Winery offers sweeping views across the Hauraki Gulf and surrounding islands. Settle in for a seasonal two-course lunch and a glass of wine in Batch Winery’s contemporary dining space; a relaxed, unhurried centrepiece to the day. Take some time after lunch to unwind on the lawn and soak up the island vistas.

Third stop:
Wine tasting

Set on a hillside above Onetangi, Casita Miro brings a slice of Spain and the Mediterranean to the island, from its Gaudí-inspired mosaic gardens to its terraced vineyard and estate-grown wines. A tasting here, with the sea stretching out below the vines toward the horizon, is one of the most memorable stops on the tour.

Fourth stop:
Wine Tasting

This family-run vineyard has established itself as one of Waiheke Island's most iconic destinations, with stunning views across the Hauraki Gulf stretching back to Auckland City it’s the perfect final chapter to the day. Enjoy a tasting at the rustic cellar door and learn about Mudbrick's varietals, grown right here on the island.
Take a moment to explore the beautiful surrounds before rejoining the coach to wind back to Matiatia.

What is the Waiheke Walk-up service?

The Waiheke Walk-up is the primary passenger ferry service with high-frequency, regular sailings to Waiheke Island year-round. Your ticket is valid for any scheduled Waiheke Walk-up sailing within a year of the purchase date. For the tour, customers need to board the 10:00am service.

Where does my ferry depart from in Downtown Auckland?

The Waiheke Walk-up ferry departs from piers 11 and 12 at the Downtown Auckland Ferry Terminal. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the 10:00am sailing to ensure you're on time for the tour.

Can I return on a later sailing if I want to stay longer?

Absolutely. Simply let your tour coach know you plan to stay on after the tour ends. Your return Waiheke Walk-up ferry ticket allows you to board any scheduled sailing within 12 months of the ticket date.

Are children allowed on the tour?

The tour is for adults only. Guests aged 16 or older may attend provided they are accompanied by a parent or guardian for the full duration of the tour.

Will there be others on the tour with me?

Yes, this is a shared tour open to the public, so you'll be travelling with other guests
