What’s included

309 Kauri Grove – Make your way through the naturally regenerating rainforest, right into the heart of this spectacular grove. The well-formed walking track leads to the most mature kauri stand on the Coromandel Peninsula. Enjoy a personal encounter with these magnificent giants.

Waiau Waterfall – You’ll take a short walk to visit this beautiful waterfall and popular swimming hole, surrounded by native bush. This is a photographer favourite!

Local Guide – An experienced local guide will share stories of the Coromandel kauri and the area’s rich history. 

Scenic shuttle transfer – Take in stunning views throughout the scenic drive along 309 Road. The tour includes return transfer from the Coromandel ferry (Hannafords Wharf) via Coromandel Town.

Duration: Approximately 1.45 hours
Availability: Tour operates daily in conjunction with the Coromandel ferry
Departure Time: Tour departs Coromandel Town at 12.25pm on weekdays and at 2.00pm on weekends and public holidays

Schedule: We’ve partnered with a local tour company to provide a bespoke Coromandel experience. As all tours depart from Coromandel Town, we provide a complimentary shuttle from the wharf. You’ll have time to explore the town prior to your tour departure. Here’s what your day will likely look like: 

  • Ferry arrives at Hannafords Wharf, Coromandel: Approximately 10.45am
  • Shuttle to Coromandel Town: Meets the ferry at Hannafords Wharf, and arrives in Coromandel Town at approximately 11.15am
  • Free time to explore Coromandel Town until scheduled tour departure
  • Tour departs Coromandel Town: 12.25pm (weekdays) or 2.00pm (weekends/public holidays)
  • Tour returns to Coromandel Town: 2.10pm (weekdays) or 3.40pm (weekends/public holidays)
  • Shuttle to Hannafords Wharf: Departs Coromandel Town (Samuel James Reserve car park) 30 minutes prior to scheduled ferry departure
