The Fullers360 Auckland to Motutapu Island return ferry is taking a break from its scheduled services. We hope to be back cruising to this incredible part of the Hauraki Gulf shortly, please check back in with us soon.
For a true overnight getaway, set up camp at Motutapu Island’s idyllic Home Bay. Though direct sailings to Home Bay are limited, the DOC campsite is also accessible by walking from Rangitoto Island, which has multiple ferry services daily.
The Home Bay campsite is divided into five different areas called pods, offering a total of 38 non-powered tent sites in total. The pods are divided across a road, with two on the seaward side and three on the stream side.
The campsite does not provide barbeques, and no fires are allowed at any time. There is no power supply so you’ll need to bring a torch. There are no showers, but water is available.
For more information and to make a booking, please visit DOC’s campground site.
Motutapu Island is a pest-free wildlife sanctuary, which means there are important biosecurity requirements in place. All visitors must complete and bring the biosecurity checklist.
