Leave a legacy on the spectacular Motutapu conservation island. The island’s restoration trust hosts public volunteer days on alternate Sundays throughout the year – a truly unique way to lend a hand while experiencing one of the Hauraki Gulf’s oldest landforms. 

Volunteer activities and calendar

There are plenty of ways to get your hands dirty, with seasonal volunteer activities throughout the year.

  • Tree planting – between May and August (medium fitness required).
  • Nursery work – between September and April, and winter months.
  • Weed busting – year-round (medium fitness required).
  • Beach clean-ups – year-round.
