Rotoroa Island needs your help with maintenance and pruning across the island's track network. They're looking for 20 volunteers, and we're providing a 40% discount off ferry tickets to help with this important work.
Rotoroa Island has over 6km of fabulous walking tracks for visitors to explore. As part of the island's ongoing restoration programme, more than 400,000 native trees have been planted in the last 10 years. Their first planted canopy is now starting to connect and needs some pruning to keep the tracks enjoyable.
This track work and pruning activity is suitable for moderately fit people and is limited to just 20 volunteers.
There will time to explore the island and a sausage sizzle after the restoration work.
While unlikely to cancel unless terrible weather, you will be able to check on Rotoroa Island's Facebook page where they will post a cancellation notification. If unsure, you can call the island's duty phone on the morning of the volunteer day: 09 283 0849.
